Miles MacKinnon began his career in the city of London working for AXA Sun Life. After seven years he moved onto to gain further experience in different areas of the financial sector working for a Merchant Bank, Securities firm and Venture Capitalist.
In 2010, Miles co-founded MD Capital Partners, which is a private equity firm based in Mayfair. Their portfolio is made up of investments in the Renewable Energy, Mining, Virtual Gaming and Ship Wreck and Salvage sectors. He is a member of the Company of International Bankers and also the International Tax Planning Association.
Outside of work Miles is an eager sportsman enjoying tennis, skiing, golf and rugby, having previously played at Harlequins, where he now sits on the committee of the Harlequins Players Association.
Miles is also involved in the SMEI Charity which his wife founded, to raise funds to purchase and enable the children’s ward at their local hospital to operate with modern equipment, benefiting the patients, parents, doctors and nurses. SMEI (Scarlett MacKinnon endowment initiative) is named after their daughter who has Dravet's Syndrome (severe myoclonic epilepsy of infancy) and learning difficulties.
Miles lives in Kent with his wife Kirsty and their four children, Harrison, Scarlett, Rory and Lyla.
He joined the Board of Special Olympics in 2010.
