After 4 wonderful days, the Anniversary Games in Stirling have come to a close!
We have experienced some incredible sporting action, new friendships created, fantastic sportsmanship, Wallace running riot and most of all new memories being made!

Special Olympics GB was delighted to stage a very special Anniversary Games, hosted by Special Olympics Scotland in Stirling, Scotland in August 2018.
The Anniversary Games will celebrated both Special Olympics GB's 40th birthday (SOGB was founded in 1978) and also the 50th birthday of the worldwide Special Olympics global movement (set up in 1968 by President JFK’s sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver).
The Special Olympics GB Anniversary Games involved approximately 1,200 athletes and 400 coaches and officials. As well as athletes from all GB Regions, a number of European countries were invited to take part in the Games. All athletes and coaches were accommodated on campus at the University of Stirling. An estimated 2,500 family members attend these Games and access to all sports were free to the public.
