Special Olympics GB is delighted to spearhead a new drive within its Yorkshire & Humberside Region to actively recruit volunteers for many of their Special Olympics Clubs.
Volunteering is the lifeblood of the Special Olympics with 4,000 volunteers currently associated with 150 clubs in England, Scotland and Wales.
At the moment there are almost 20 opportunities available across the 6 clubs in the Yorkshire and Humberside region. There are roles to suit every background, including Volunteer Coordinators, Communications Officers and Partnerships Officers.
The roles for the following initial clubs involved in the project are with:
- South Yorkshire
- City of Hull
- City of York
- West Yorkshire
- Leeds Stars
Gearoid Mitchell, Special Olympics GB’s National Volunteer Manager, said: “Our volunteers are an essential part of the Special Olympics family and they are the lifeblood of our organisation.
“A number of excellent volunteer opportunities have come up across some of our Yorkshire & Humberside clubs. These are a great way for you to get involved in sports club at the heart of your community.”
