With the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games Opening Ceremony just 50 days away, we are delighted to announce a special fundraising campaign in partnership with the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games Organising Committee and Special Olympics International to support the Games in Austria this March.
Special Olympics has partnered with 'Go Fund Me' - a global fundraising platform - and Special Olympics GB are part of the campaign through a "support an athlete" style campaign. 50% of funds raised will go direct to Special Olympics International - and specifically the 2017 World Winter Games Organising Committee - and the other 50% will be directed back to Special Olympics GB to support its ongoing winter sports development plans.
The 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games are the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event in 2017 and will be hosted by Hollywood star - the World's most famous Austrian and Honorary President of these Games - Arnold Schwarzenegger. 3,000 Special Olympics athletes from 110 nations to compete in nine Olympic-type winter sports in Graz and Schladming.
