Vicky, who lives in Honiton, East Devon, will jump from 15,000 feet to support Special Olympics GB in its quest to transform the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sport.

“I love sport and so being able to raise vital funds for people with intellectual disabilities to train and compete is really important to me,” said Vicky.

“Special Olympics GB is a charity that’s very close to my heart and, having spent more than 15 years as a support worker and a Teaching Assistant specifically for sports in secondary education, I have seen how big the transformation can be when opportunities are created.

“I am a strong believer in everyone having the same opportunities in life and hope that I can raise key funds to support more of the charity’s great work.”

Vicky has already surpassed her initial £500 fundraising target but is hoping to raise much more ahead of the big day.

Polly Hale, Head of Fundraising at Special Olympics GB, said: “The sporting opportunities created by Special Olympics GB clubs are lifechanging and help people with intellectual disabilities to build their confidence, live healthier lifestyles, develop new life skills and support their independence.

“It’s incredibly brave of Vicky to participate in a skydive and we’re very grateful to her, and the other amazing fundraisers, for participating in such fantastic activities that support the charity.”

Special Olympics Great Britain is the largest provider of sports training and competition for children and adults with an intellectual disability. Operating in England, Scotland and Wales, the charity has more than 6,600 athletes benefitting from opportunities in 27 different sports, which are delivered by a devoted team of 3,800 volunteers.
