Athletes from Special Olympics Sheffield and Special Olympics St Albans recently got the opportunity to compete in the England Netball ParaNetball Championships in Nottingham.

Following previous events in 2019 and 2020, England Netball’s ParaNetball Championships is a pan-disability event that saw 32 athletes participate in the four-team tournament at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre at Nottingham Trent University.

Special Olympics Sheffield’s Net4All white team took the honours on the day with Special Olympics St Albans the runner-up.

Rachael Crack, Competition Development Manager at Special Olympics GB, said: “We’re very grateful to  England Netball for developing this event, which provides an excellent competitive opportunity for our athletes across the country.

“We believe that there’s a great opportunity to grow our Netball offering and we have ambitions to develop a Special Olympics GB national event in the near future, whilst also supporting growth of the ParaNetball Championships.”
