After almost two and a half long years of not being able to offer large-scale competition to our athletes, Special Olympics GB is absolutely delighted and excited to say that the wait is almost over!

Starting tomorrow, Saturday, 25th June, The Special Olympics GB Summer Series of Sport, gets underway with the Level 1 Golf Competition hosted by our Special Olympics Eastern Region.

Kicking off a fantastic summer of sporting action, The Special Olympics GB Summer Series of Sport marks the return to full-scale activity for at least 1,500 Special Olympics GB athletes, with the support of our brilliant volunteers, to compete for the first time since February 2020 due to the consequences of Covid-19.

Tomorrow's event is the first of 18 events which will run from June to September across England and Wales which together make up the largest celebration of intellectual disability sport in Great Britain this year.

In what is a major new format to the organisation, The Special Olympics GB Summer Series of Sport, not only offers competition in a wide range of single and multi-sport events across 12 sports, the series also offers a National Summer Games experience of fun and friendship opportunities which is a huge part of the experience for our athletes.

And with qualification opportunities for any of our registered athletes interested in being selected to represent Special Olympics GB at The Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin 2023, it's guaranteed to be a summer of fun for everyone involved.

With a wide range of opportunities to get involved either as a volunteer or to watch our athletes in action as a spectator details on all our events can be found in our Events Calendar
