Following the recent announcement regarding the format for a 2026 National Summer Games, Special Olympics is now recruiting Technical Delegates and Competition Managers to support the delivery of this transformational event.

These roles will be voluntary positions and appointed across all 15 of the planned competition sports in the National Summer Games. Together, the successful candidates will play a critical role in ensuring that the 2026 National Summer Games delivers on Special Olympics GB’s ambition to set a new benchmark for inclusion and sporting excellence.

Technical Delegates

Technical Delegates are sport-specific specialists with the knowledge, expertise and experience to ensure that our competition is delivered to the highest standards.

The Technical Delegates will work closely with Special Olympics GB’s Major Events and Sport for Development teams, ensuring that each competition is safe, fair, and provides the best possible experience for every athlete.

Competition Managers

Competition Managers are responsible for the overall organisation and management of their sport’s competition.

Working in close collaboration with the Technical Delegate, they will lead on the planning and co-ordination of their sport at the Games, supporting smooth delivery and a memorable experience for athletes, volunteers, officials and partners alike.
