Special Olympics Great Britain Unified Champion Schools (UCS) brings young people together through inclusive sport and meaningful activities that create lasting, system-wide change across education settings.

The three pillar model offers a unique combination of activities.

Unified Sports:

  • Students with and without intellectual disabilities participate together in sport and physical activity.
  • Activities are designed to encourage cooperation, friendship and shared achievement

Inclusive Youth Leadership:

  • Young people are given opportunities to lead on inclusion projects and act as role models within their schools.
  • Students can help plan and deliver activities that promote acceptance and belonging.

Whole- School Engagement:

  • Inclusion is embedded across wider school community through festivals, awareness campaigns and collaborative activities involving pupils and staff.
  • The goal is to create lasting cultural change.
