Special Olympics GB Principal Ambassador and Everton FC star Jack Grealish has been awarded the prestigious Sports Journalists’ Association (SJA) Lord Ouseley Award for 2025.

Recognising an individual or organisations within sport who have led the fight against racism and discrimination, while promoting equality and inclusion in sport and wider society, Jack was presented with the Lord Ouseley Award, in association with Sky Sports and Kick It Out by the latter’s Chief Executive, Samuel Okafo.

As Principal Ambassador for Special Olympics GB since 2022, Jack has championed our work to transform the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through sport.

“It is a huge honour to receive the Lord Ouseley Award,” said Jack. “I’m humbled to be recognised in this way.

Sport has the power to unite, to inspire and to change lives. I’m proud to stand alongside Special Olympics GB and all the athletes, coaches and volunteers who show every day what inclusive sport can achieve.

The Lord Ouseley Award celebrates those who use sport as a platform for positive change. Named after the late Baron Ouseley, a tireless advocate for equality, the award highlights the importance of leadership in fostering inclusive environments.

Jack’s receipt of this award reflects his commitment on and off the pitch to promoting fairness, diversity and opportunity.

Congratulations to Jack.
